It is a great joy to announce that Emmanuel Theological College’s academic programmes will be validated by the University of Durham under the Common Awards scheme from September 2021.
The good news was confirmed in May, following a rigorous process of applications and review by the University authorities, including a virtual site visit by the Common Awards Team in January.
The Dean of Emmanuel, Canon Dr Michael Leyden welcomed the final confirmation, “I am so pleased that we are entering into this partnership with the University of Durham to validate the academic programmes we teach at Emmanuel. We are totally committed to ensuring our students receive the best quality teaching and learning experience and we believe this partnership will help us to deliver that. Academic theology is an important part of our overall curriculum, sitting alongside our Ministry Formation Program and Contextual Placements, it is one of the ways our students grow in Christlikeness, hopefulness, and thinking creatively about mission and ministry.”
Emmanuel offers Durham validated programmes at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels on both a full-time and part-time basis, as well as introductory courses for those wanting to dip their toes into theology.
